Help & FAQ

Quick answers to the questions we hear most.

Which phones support eSIM?

Most modern smartphones support eSIM: iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, recent Samsung Galaxy S/Note/Z series, and many others. The Simly app verifies compatibility before you buy.

How do I install a Simly eSIM?

After purchase, you'll get a QR code. Open your phone's cellular settings, choose 'Add eSIM' (or 'Add cellular plan'), scan the code, and follow the prompts. Most installs finish in under a minute.

When does my plan start?

Most plans start the first time your eSIM connects to a network in the destination country. Some long-duration plans start at install time — the plan page tells you which.

Can I keep my home SIM active?

Yes. You'll have two lines: your home SIM for calls/texts on your number, and the Simly eSIM for travel data. You can pick which line your data uses in your phone settings.

Can I use my Simly eSIM for hotspot/tethering?

Yes — Simly plans support personal hotspot and tethering, just like a regular data line.

What happens if my data runs out?

You can top up directly inside the Simly app — no need to install a new eSIM. Or buy a new plan if your current one has expired.

Can I get a refund?

If your eSIM hasn't been activated yet, contact our support team in the app or at support@simly.io and we'll sort it out.

Do Simly plans include calls and texts?

Most plans are data-only — but data covers WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage, Signal, and any internet calling app, which is how most travelers use their phones today. A few destinations also offer voice + text plans.
